Together, We Thrive!

“Our city needs fresh, compassionate leadership—leaders who truly understand the struggles of New Yorkers, especially our newly arrived residents, and who are ready to deliver real solutions”

After experiencing homelessness and sleeping on the streets myself, I founded New York City's first shelter for asylum seekers. My journey has given me a deep understanding of the urgent need for affordable housing, accessible healthcare, and dignified, welcoming communities.

I’m running because we deserve better. Our current council member has failed to protect retiree healthcare, ignored constituent communications, and refused to stand up for migrants being displaced by the mayor's shelter evictions. His lack of leadership and engagement has left too many without the support they need.

Platform

I represent the interests of all District 7 New Yorkers—natives and immigrants alike. My mission is to strengthen our community bonds and understanding so that all can feel safe and welcome. I stand firmly to protect the rights of immigrant communities, women's rights, racial equality, LGBTQ rights, and the rights of different faith communities.
